Type locality:

“Nolagi River” [ambiguous]

Type repository:

Holotype: NHRS

Ecology:

This subspecies was collected on Acacia haematoxylon Wild. (Fabaceae), as well as on the flowers of Grewia sp. (Tiliaceae). Seems to imitate the shield bug Callidae dregei Germ., which is similar in size and colour combination (Holm 1978).

Flight period:

I, II, III, IV, V, XI, XII

Size:

10-16.4 mm

Remarks:

Well developed sexualdimorphism. The spelling “viridaenea” given in recent catalogues is incorrect and does not correspond with the original description. [unpubl.]
